Visa to Chad: Tourist Visa, Business Visa

In order to obtain a visa to Chad applicants should provide the following:

Tourist visa

  1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page
  2. 3 passport-type photographs
  3. 3 filled out visa application forms
  4. Printed and filled out order form.
  5. Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary, or letter of confirmation from travel agent
  6. International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever

Business visa

  1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page
  2. 3 passport-type photographs
  3. 3 filled out visa application forms
  4. Printed and filled out order form.
  5. International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever.
  6. A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Chad, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.
  7. The letter must explain:
    • Nature of business to be performed;
    • Name and address of reference to be visited;
    • Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
    • The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Additional information

Tourist or business Single Entry visa is usually valid for only 30 days from date issued, for a stay not to exceed 30 days. This means the applicant must enter Chad within 30 days of the issue of the visa, and can then stay up to 30 days. Three and six months Multiple Entries visas are also available. The International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is not required at time of visa issuance, but must be presented upon arrival. Canadian residents may apply for visa through Washington D.C. Payment should be made by money order in U.S. Funds.
